I've worked with James several times over the years to develop different aspects of my performance, from injury rehabilitation to enhancing my quality of movement. Most recently, since training restrictions have been lifted, we've been working on foot mechanics, joint mobility and muscle activation, with the overall aim of improving my Olympic Weightlifting technique. Additionally, he has challenged me with unilateral resistance and core strength and stability training to help resolve long standing muscular imbalances. Carol had severe pain across her entire upper back and shoulders and neck. An MRI showed Transverse Myelitis. She had never had sports massage or trigger point therapy (TPT) suggested. She had extremely forward rounded shoulders and head. After six sessions of TPT, manipulation, mobility movements, progressive strength exercises and 'homework' her pain was gone completely and her posture was significantly improved. I asked if he could help bring our warm up exercises for our Ju-Jitsu organisation up to date. Hannah came to see me after suffering with ankle pain for 8 years and after seeing numerous people about this. An ankle range of motion check showed limited dorsiflexion, foot and ankle function. Banded joint distraction, TPT, tissue work and mobility drills eliminated the pain. Moving forward a corrective exercise program strengthened and improved the foot and ankle function.
Paul had severe pain in his low back and glutes, mostly in one side, severely rounded shoulders and forward head posture. All were affecting his sleep and every day activities, even walking. We started multiple unilateral strength and mobility exercises combined with TPT and tissue work. After several sessions Paul is now pain free. He now walks taller, doesn't need to look at his feet whilst walking and has much improved posture and movement.
